Why start this way

Know what you are flying for before you book a ticket

Most people who contact us from abroad have already been told they need an operation, and want two things: an independent surgical view of their reports, and a realistic picture of what surgery in Hyderabad would involve, cost and take. The written opinion answers both, in writing, before any travel decision.

Average wait for a new gastroenterology appointment in US metros, 2025 survey (AMN Healthcare)

Your written opinion from Hyderabad, after complete records

Dr. Sujeeth is registered to practise in India. For patients outside India, his opinion is professional information for you and your treating physician. It is not a consultation under the laws of the country you are in, and no prescription is issued abroad. If you choose surgery, it happens in Hyderabad after he examines you in person.

Fees, stated plainly

If you decide on surgery in Hyderabad

How treatment works for international patients

1. Written plan and estimate

After the opinion, if surgery appears indicated and you want it done here, you receive a written treatment plan: the operation proposed, the technique (laparoscopic or robotic), the hospital stay, days needed in Hyderabad, and an itemised estimate from Apollo Hospitals in INR with the USD or GBP equivalent on that date.

2. Dates, visa letter, travel

We agree dates around your travel. Foreign nationals receive a medical-visa invitation letter from Apollo Hospitals for the e-Medical visa. Overseas Citizens of India and NRIs with a valid visa need nothing extra. Airport pickup and accommodation options are shared with the plan.

3. In-person consultation and surgery

Day 1 in Hyderabad: consultation and examination at the clinic in Manikonda, pre-operative tests. Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, usually on day 2 or 3. Most laparoscopic patients go home from the hospital within 24 to 48 hours.

4. Recovery, fly-home clearance, follow-up

Reviews at the clinic until Dr. Sujeeth clears you to fly. You leave with a discharge summary, operation notes, histopathology when ready, and a letter for your home physician. Follow-up is by video, with wound photos and reports on WhatsApp.

Plan your dates

In writing, before you consent

What is included, what is not, and what happens if something goes wrong

Included in the hospital estimate

  • Surgeon, anaesthetist and operating-theatre charges for the planned operation
  • The hospital stay in the room category you choose, standard consumables and mesh or staplers where the plan says so
  • Pre-operative tests listed in the plan, and routine post-operative medicines during the stay
  • Clinic reviews with Dr. Sujeeth until fly-home clearance, and video follow-up after you return

Not included

  • Flights, accommodation and food outside the hospital, and airport transfers unless stated
  • Treatment of unrelated conditions found during work-up, additional procedures needed because of findings at surgery, or ICU care if a complication requires it
  • Investigations or medicines after you return home

Complications and re-operation

Every operation has specific risks. Your consent form lists the ones that apply to you, with the approximate frequency and what would be done about each. If a complication arises before you fly home, it is managed by Dr. Sujeeth at Apollo Hospitals; hospital charges for that care follow Apollo’s policy and are explained to you in writing before surgery, not after. If a problem appears after you return home, you contact us first; we advise you and your local physician in writing and, where a review in Hyderabad is needed, plan it with you.

Follow-up

Video reviews at 2 weeks and 6 weeks are part of the plan, with wound photos and any reports shared on WhatsApp. Histopathology reports are sent to you and your home physician when ready.

Important information about opinions for patients outside India

The written opinion is based solely on the reports and information you provide, without physical examination. Dr. Sujeeth Kumar Bashetty is registered with the Telangana State Medical Council (Reg. No. 61440) and licensed to practise in India. For patients outside India the opinion is professional information to help you and your treating physician decide; it does not diagnose or treat you, does not create a doctor–patient relationship under the laws of your country, and no prescription is issued outside India. If your reports are not sufficient for a responsible opinion, we will say so and refund the fee. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. See our terms, refund policy and privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Can Dr. Sujeeth consult me by video if I live in the US or UK?

He is licensed to practise in India. For patients outside India he provides a records-based written surgical opinion, with an optional video review to explain it. It is professional information for you and your local physician, not treatment, and no prescription is issued outside India. Treatment, if you choose it, takes place in Hyderabad after in-person consultation.

What should I send?

Scan and ultrasound reports (the images too, if you have them: a MyChart or patient-portal download, or DICOM files), blood tests, endoscopy reports, the advice or operation you were offered, your medicine list and any previous operation notes. Clear phone photos of paper reports are fine.

How is the fee charged?

By international card through Razorpay, in USD or GBP as shown. You receive an invoice by email. The fee is a fixed professional charge; it is refundable in full until the review starts, and in full if the doctor finds a responsible opinion is not possible from your records.

How long will I need to stay in Hyderabad?

Typically 7 to 10 days for laparoscopic gallbladder, hernia, thyroid or anorectal surgery, and 10 to 14 days for complex hernia, colorectal or bariatric surgery. Your written plan gives the number for your case.

Do I need a medical visa?

Overseas Citizens of India and NRIs with a valid visa do not. Foreign nationals apply online for an e-Medical visa with an invitation letter from Apollo Hospitals, which we arrange once your plan and dates are confirmed. One or two attendant visas can be issued for family members.

Will you publish surgery prices?

No. Hospital charges depend on the technique, room category, findings at surgery and length of stay, so a published number would mislead. You receive an itemised written estimate from Apollo Hospitals for your case, with the USD or GBP equivalent, before you decide to travel.

What if there is a complication before I fly home?

Your consent includes a written explanation of the specific risks of your operation and what would be done about each. Any complication before you leave is managed by Dr. Sujeeth at Apollo Hospitals; charges for that care follow the hospital’s policy and are explained in writing before surgery.
