Surgery for perforated peptic ulcer
A perforated peptic ulcer is a surgical emergency. Dr. Sujeeth performs laparoscopic or open repair (omental patch) to seal the perforation and wash out the abdominal cavity, ideally within hours of presentation to minimise complications.
Gastrectomy for gastric cancer
Partial or total removal of the stomach is required for gastric cancer. The extent of resection depends on the location and stage of the tumour. Lymph node dissection is performed alongside resection to improve oncological outcomes. Minimally invasive (laparoscopic or robotic) gastrectomy is feasible in selected cases.
Gastrojejunostomy for gastric outlet obstruction
When a tumour or severe peptic ulcer disease prevents the stomach from emptying properly, a bypass operation (gastrojejunostomy) restores food passage and relieves symptoms.

Q: Can a perforated peptic ulcer be treated without surgery?
